The Copper Studio

While on the public relations team at Kit & Ace, an athleisure brand founded by the family of lululemon’s Chip Wilson, I was tasked with developing an innovative way to introduce the brand to new markets across North America. At the time, Kit & Ace was in its early growth phase, and building brand awareness in both Canada and the U.S. was a top priority.

In collaboration with the Kit & Ace brand visuals team, I concepted and brought to life The Copper Studio - a fully customized 1968 Flying Cloud Airstream trailer transformed into a mobile Kit & Ace store on wheels. Outfitted with a custom copper exterior, white oak interior, a neon Time is Precious sign, and retail-inspired fixturing, the Airstream reflected the brand’s elevated aesthetic. I also sourced a vintage Land Rover Defender to tow the trailer.

The Copper Studio was designed to serve four key functions:

  1. Content Hub: Capturing real-time photo and video content highlighting local creatives, entrepreneurs, and communities.

  2. Community Activation Space: Hosting brand events, interviews, and pop-ups to engage consumers in key regional markets.

  3. PR & Marketing Tool: Driving organic media coverage and social buzz through its highly visual, design-forward presence.

  4. Product Seeding: The Copper Studio was stocked with Kit & Ace clothing to gift to visitors who likely had not yet experienced “Technical Cashmere” and other innovations.

The Copper Studio toured extensively across North America, appearing at major cultural events including Coachella, Art Basel, SxSW, the Harper’s Bazaar Icons party at New York Fashion Week, and the Fourth of July in The Hamptons.

In addition to leading the strategic vision for the project, I managed all logistics: securing location permits from local municipalities, planning and executing pop-up activations, assembling and managing a traveling team (including a driver, a photographer, and rotating members of the brand team), and overseeing all on-the-road content development and media outreach.

This initiative played a key role in increasing brand visibility, generating extensive press coverage, and establishing Kit & Ace’s reputation as an innovative brand.
